Sapanca

Oh yeah... This Sapanca was a mixture of a lot of things... but what was beautiful was the nature...

We all reached Sapanca on Sunday.. n he left us there on Monday night... and by Thursday midnight, i had missed him so much that i started to pick a fight... on the phone... refusing to recieve his call.... which was silly really coz the only thing i wanted to do then was to hear that voice i missed desperately that it hurt to breathe....but by being sooo typical * a woman*...i refused to talk to him....... n thus, i suffered in silence *chuckles*...*bangang binti tolol* heheheh

Luckily the extra lectures he was supposed to attend during the weekend was cancelled. Therefore, he made a suprise *i am hereeeee* during midnight on Friday which was a silly thing really coz he was stuck outside the house waiting for someone to open the door heheheheeh...Thanks to mıstık who opened the door for him (mıstık jumped a few stairs coz he got scared something had hapenned) n i had the shock of my life when he entered the bedroom as we were all soundly sleeping *chuckles*.

Take for example this bird's nest... it is fascinating how the mom and dad of the 3 little birdies take turn to feed their younglings.. the mom comes to the next... feeds the younglings... flies away... then the dad comes....the dad to feeds the little one...all day long.. non stop....and u would think that the little ones would be full huh? such hungry mouths too feed.. and such hardworking parents! masyaAllah...

The mom ready to feed the hungry ones

The dad keeping watch at the top of the pool's curtain post while tryng to catch any insects that pass by in the air..
And guess what? from hours of watching the birds... mıstık ( baba's helper) discovered that... one parent feed one little birdie... the little birdie will immediately do the *big toilet*.. the parent catches the *yucky thing* inside her/his mouth and flies away to dispose the stool..that way, the nest is kept clean... how brilliant, huh? And the feeding stops as the day gets darker and one parent(supposedly the mom) stays with the little birdies in the nest while the dad keeps watch all nite long from a place nearby...
oh yeah...did i mention this mummy cat n her 2 kittens who without fail will grace our door for food each meal time.. n whom mıstık gladly complied :0)

It was also interesting how in the few days when Turkey faced (faces) the hottest weather ever (33 -42 degree celcius)... how..even the animals were effected...a bird practically flew thru the water in the picture below (i couldnt snap the bird.. it was too fast n unexpected) to cool itself...And u cant imagine how many insects decided to cool themselves inside the pool.. not caring if they got killed in the process heheheThe bees especially did that.. leaving hatice, baddin n i screaming...
*mıstıkkkkkkk... böceklarrrrrrrrr varrr*
(mıstık.. there r insects!!)
and poor mıstık had to scoop them away hehehehe..oh yeah.. we r a family who r not so fond of flying things hehehe
I still remember how there was one time when i saw a bee in the pool as i was swimming... the kids were screaming as it was anyway... mıstık was no where to be found.. and so i decided to scoop the bee using my hands.... ı managed to coop it to the side of the pool n guess what? the bee was alive!! and what was the bee doing? it was heading towards the pool again!! i used my slipper to deter it from coming into the pool but it was adamant to get into the water!! in the end, i just threw it as far as i could from the pool...it was alive still.. but i was confident that that bee must have found a way to get into the pool again.. it was totally record breaking indeed... countless bees n other flying insects (n even ants) inside the pool... but as the weather got better n cooler ( we were walking around using sweaters the last 2 days ..only in Sapanca of course)...the amount of insects inside the pool lessened considerably...
Ahhhh the nature was indeed beautiful..the trees in the garden made the scenary really green n eye catching....when it was early in the mornings, when the birds think that everyone were still sleeping, u can see a bird or two hopping on the grasss of the garden... each bird making a different noise... u can only guess what they were mumbling to each other....in a language only birds know.... or at times when the big wild 2 squirrels of the empty house next door thought no one was looking, they hopped into our garden to steal the fresh hazelnuts on the trees... how brilliant they r....n how fast....
Halil n the kids in the garden..

I couldt help but to adore the bees on the wild berry trees (boğurtland) as well.. as we did our customary büyük tür.. the big jungle trekking (one hour n a half) with just the kids, halil n i...as we we puffing the first time we did it this year (oiii.. tinggi ooo nak panjat bukit...).. as we had to walk on muddy places (it rained the day before)...
as i tried to walk in my beach slipper (thanks 2 halil who forgot to bring my loafers)... as well as wearing a skirt for the jungle trekking (hahahahah not recommended)....

u cant imagine how many bees we encountered having a feast on the flowers of the berry... some already turned into green berries... maybe in a month's time... ready to be picked... i was fascinated especially by the big fat... black n strikingly bright yellow bees....they, u dont see near our sapanca house garden.... and the nature as though pitying my daughter, presented her with a fully ripe dark deep coloured berries for her to eat....making her one definitely happy girl :0)

the road changed very little really.... we still passed that one wild apple tree on our way...though a bit sad coz this year they will be no apples to be picked from that tree...we still passed that one house which smelled of cow n sheep dung.... we still pass that house with 6 sheeps lazing around in front of the gate... that black dog from inside that house still barked at us... but i am afraid that white dog who used to wait with the sheeps r no longer there..probably dead due to the age factor...the beauty of nature was none other ..at least not where u can find by looking at the bricks n mortar of istanbul.... n the smell of wild kekik (thyme) as u walk whicle jungle trekking.... just a rub on ur palm at the leaves....will leave u smelling wonderful all the way... (esp if u r gonna sweat while jungle trekking hehehe)...
Hatice n Baddin all ready for the second jungle trekking...
and a jump into the pool after the jungle trekking or everytime the heat gets to u (we spent around 3-4 hours in the pool each day)....made everything worth it! :0)As much as i love Sapanca.. i miss my home as well.... and that is why i am here for a day or two.. that is before i am once again back to Sapanca where mıstık n baba await us..... (kena la balik sana balik.. kalau tak nanti kesian lak pak mentua tak dak orang nak masak kat dia kan.. :0)
I know a lot of u r curious about my last Sapanca... so here i am updating this entry for u... i need to settle the bills etc..etc etc... so many things to do today as well as trying to get the laundry done etc..etc... forgive me if i cant blog hop yet.. will try to do it tonite as well as replying to ur comments in my previous entry....
Thank You for hopping by...Hope to see u again the next time.
I really miss u guys...!
But i am afraid.. i will be missing in action this summer with no internet connection more often than not...

Woohoo!! Simah is back but only for a short while it seems...
I guess you miss US in blogland so much eh? Aside from halil of course..
Summer in Sapanca sounds so idyllic - getting back to nature - even the the birds & the bees are sharing their presence with simah&co. Manade benda yg percuma in this world, so takat berpisah kejap dgn halil (which makes the heart grow fonder I guess *wink2x*)apalah sgt kan? Pastu berbakti pada org tua lagi? Sure suami syang kat u!

We are bored to tears with the rainy weather here. It's so temperamental, so hot and humid one day and the next few days turns cool and rainy.

Hello Simah, wa, I am learning about the birds and the bees here, ha ha. Nice posting and beautiful photos too.
Apa burung tu? Simah.
Here I get pigeons come and coo coo behind me then do their banking on my window sill, so I bought a small water pistol...ha ha, no more pigeons, they go do banking next house.
Keep well, Simah. UL.
